CM3

In this class, I learned the google reader and google trends. I found these google tools are so useful in my campus life.

[Google Reader]
To tell the truth, learned how to use the google reader in the fall term's CM class. But I could not understand how to use it after all. However, my question was solved today. Google reader can check own favorite website, blog and news site easily. Moreover, we can share own information with friends.

[Google trends]

Google trends is a useful, especially, I think this tools shows at it’s best in writhing academic essay. Google trends can see a word’s trend that how a word is searched in the google using a bar graph. Moreover, I can see the ranking which country is the most searched the word. Of course it could compare two or three words at once. For instance, this bar graph shows the trend of the Japanese music pop group, blue is Morning musume, red is EXILE and yellow is AKB48. According to this graph, Morning musume was craze among Japan in 2004 and now their popularity is going down. On the other hand, AKB48 is the latest craze since 2006. Also EXILE maintain a constant popularity. Using this tool, I found the Japanese music trend.

These tools are so interesting and put my new knowledge of CM class to practical use in my campus and daily life.

ARW Blogging Assignment 6

The most usuful approach to use in critically analyzing The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemmingway is Santiago as a Christ Figure. I think we can not read The Old Man and the Sea critically and deeply without knowledge of Bible. There are many passage imply that The Old Man and the Sea is based on the Crucifixion. This is because, there are some strong resemblance between Santiago's situation and the Crucifixion. For example, Santiago and christ spent three days of crucifixion and also their hands were bleeding and so on. For the reasons stated above, I think Ernest Hemmingway describes the old man as a Christ Figure and it is most usuful approach to read The old Man and the Sea critically.

The pieces of information I found in sources use to support my thesis and topic sentence ideas for Essay 2 are as follow.

The supporting piece of evidence that I found for body paragraph 1 is a paraphrase quote from “Fraud Investigation.”
In body paragraph 1, Lying is unacceptable because lying damage to people in the form of financial loss. Fraud Investigation is the compliance department in company where fraud problem whether fraud has taken place and detect evidences. It is says fraud is wrongdoing, and it causes not only loss of money but also loss of life and serious injuries.

The supporting piece of evidence that I found for body paragraph 2 is a paraphrase quote from “Why Friends Lie.” In body paragraph 2, Lying is unacceptable because lying causes people to lose self-confidence. They sometimes tell a lie in order to avoid being hurt their friends. Perhaps they know that the truth might make you mad at them, and they might want to avoid losing your friendship. The best way to handle lying is to talk to your friends calmly, and get the entire truth. If people do not break off relation with their friend, they should be honest with your friend.

How do "good" college teachers present information?

According to Meiland, a " good" college teacher presents information in the following way. Good college teacher spend much time talking about the basis on which this information is current believed. The reason why Meiland thinks it is important to understand the material. Moreover, college students were required a different and higher type of understanding, critical examination and evaluation.

I almost agree with Meiland's opinion but I don't agree with his opinion on this point. He says college students need to acquire high type of understanding, however I don't think so. that's why high type of understanding sometimes prevent from thinking of a nice idea. And we can not imagine what happenes in our life, so there is no necessity for cultivating high type of understanding. if you want to know about it , you can easily get usuful information by Internet, book and so on.
